My Weakly Inch Saturday, January 5th, 2019 | Gang aft agley. That’s what happens to the best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men. Who am I to disappoint? While not one for new year resolutions, I did think it a good idea to begin 2019 writing here more often (1). “Post every day!” I might have told myself enthusiastically, ignoring all previous failed attempts to do the same. So then, five days into 2019, this first post. Happy new year?

For those of us living in the United States, despair! We still have Donald Trump as president. For those of you living outside of the United States, despair!

I call this state of things The Age of Orange.

He’s orange, you see. And his presidency casts a shadow over everything, including poetry. There is a resistance movement against him, it includes many poets and writers. Very soon I will announce the publication of a book featuring the poems and prose of one of those poets. His name is Paul Fericano. He’s a wonderful satirist. His book is larger than the miniatures I usually publish. It is a Mondo edition. They should be arriving from the printer in the next few weeks. I’m certain Paul’s book, single-handedly (2), will take down the criminal presidency of Donald the Orange!

(1) “You should blog more often!” said no one. Ever.
(2) Books have hands?

Happy New Year!

As we exit 2017, I just want to thank all the wonderful poets who have let me work with their poems this year at part of the Poems-For-All project. If your poem(s) were accepted but haven’t made it into print yet, they will. Here’s to 2018 as a year to scatter like seeds little books of poetry! — The Flounder of Poems-For-All
